About the Role An industry-leading energy technology organization is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Project Accountant to join the team in Spring, TX. In this role, you will partner closely with the Business Unit Financial Controller, General Manager, and Project Managers to drive project profitability and operational success. You will oversee monthly estimates at completion (EAC), manage revenue recognition under IFRS 15, monitor project billing, and analyze project costs against budgets and weekly forecasts.

Education & Work Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, project accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or financial reporting.
• Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience in a manufacturing accounting environment (e.g., standard costing, inventory, labor & overhead burden rates, and project accounting).

Technical Skills:

• Mandatory expertise in GAAP Accounting Standards and IFRS 15 (over-time / percent-complete revenue recognition).
• Proficiency with ERP systems (preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exceptional technical ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, legal documents, and customer contracts.

• Exceptional organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive business and financial information with discretion.

salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• EAC & Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly Estimates at Completion (EAC) workbooks; review findings with Project Managers and present insights to executive management.
• Revenue Recognition: Execute monthly revenue recognition calculations and prepare journal entries in strict compliance with IFRS 15 (over-time revenue recognition / percentage-of-completion).
• Budgeting & Cost Allocation: Review project and facility costs against budgets to ensure proper allocation and variance tracking.
• Forecasting: Build and maintain weekly project forecasts covering project costs, invoicing schedules, and revenue calculations.
• Milestone Billing & Cash Flow: Monitor project billing milestones to ensure accurate, timely invoicing and collection.
• Bids & Proposals Support: Assist with change order costing, contract reviews, and bid/proposal support.
• Audit & Compliance Support: Prepare revenue recognition memos and provide auditors with contract, EAC, and cost data as required.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a financial partner across departments, supporting continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing initiatives, and company strategic goals.
