Programmes Associate, Energy, Climate and Environment

Rise Networks is seeking a passionate, analytical, and highly organized Programme Associate – Energy, Climate & Environment to support the design, coordination, implementation, research, and monitoring of programmes focused on climate action, clean energy, environmental sustainability, and sustainable development. The successful candidate will work with internal teams, government institutions, development partners, researchers, private-sector organizations, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful programmes and generate evidence-based solutions to environmental and climate-related challenges.

Key responsibilities include supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of Energy, Climate, and Environmental programmes; conducting research on climate change, renewable energy, energy transition, sustainability, environmental policy, and green economy trends; supporting the development of project proposals, concept notes, reports, presentations, and policy briefs; assisting in coordinating workshops, conferences, stakeholder engagements, trainings, and field activities; tracking project milestones, deliverables, timelines, and budgets; collecting, analyzing, and documenting programme data and impact indicators; supporting monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting activities; conducting desk research and preparing intelligence briefs on emerging climate and energy issues; supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement with government agencies, development organizations, academia, communities, and private-sector partners; assisting with grant and donor reporting requirements; contributing to the development of climate and environmental communication materials; identifying emerging opportunities for partnerships, funding, and programme development; supporting the integration of technology, data, and Artificial Intelligence into climate and environmental programmes; and performing other programme-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications include 2–4 years of relevant experience in programme coordination, research, climate action, sustainability, energy, environmental development, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Required skills include strong research and analytical abilities; excellent written and verbal communication; programme and project coordination; report and proposal writing; data collection, analysis, and presentation; stakeholder engagement and relationship management; strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with project management and collaboration tools; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Preferred knowledge and experience include renewable and clean energy; climate change adaptation and mitigation; energy transition and energy access; environmental sustainability; carbon markets and climate finance; circular economy and waste management; sustainable cities and communities; ESG and corporate sustainability; climate policy and environmental regulation; Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); and data, AI, and digital technologies for climate action.
