The LCCI also provides business development services, training, and information to its members.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Programme Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Reports To: Head, Business Education, Services & Training (BEST)

Job the Role

  • The Global Export Incubation Hub (GEIH) is seeking a competent, dynamic and results-oriented Programme Officer to coordinate and support the day-to-day implementation of the project.
  • The Programme Officer will coordinate the programme pathway from SME identification and profiling through export-readiness training, regulatory support, mentorship, incubation, funding readiness and market access, ensuring that participating SMEs receive timely, practical and well-coordinated support throughout the programme.
  • The successful candidate will serve as a key operational link between the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), participating SMEs, Export Doctors, government agencies, financial institutions, private-sector partners, technical experts and other relevant stakeholders.

  • The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with diverse stakeholders, coordinating multiple activities simultaneously, maintaining accurate records and ensuring that programme commitments are followed through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

The Programme Officer will:

  • Support the development and execution of the project implementation plan, activity schedules and work plans.
  • Support the mobilisation and recruitment of SMEs, including screening, profiling and selection.
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of training, workshops, mentorship and other programme activities.
  • Coordinate engagement with relevant regulatory institutions, government agencies and technical experts.
  • Provide participating SMEs with practical information and guidance on standards, certification, documentation, customs procedures and other export-related regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among SMEs, Export Doctors, technical experts, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and engage potential sponsors and partners to mobilise resources for project implementation and sustainability.
  • Monitor programme activities and track SME participation, progress, outputs and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate programme records, databases and relevant documentation.
  • Prepare monthly implementation updates and contribute to quarterly programme reports.
  • Document programme lessons, success stories, challenges, innovations and recommendations.
  • Support the organisation of programme events, stakeholder engagements, training sessions and other project activities.
  • Identify implementation challenges and support timely resolution and follow-up.
  • Perform other programme-related duties as may be assigned by the Head, Business Education, Services & Training (BEST).

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree/HND in Business Administration, Economics, International Trade, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in project/programme coordination, SME development, entrepreneurship development, export promotion, business development, trade facilitation or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience working with MSMEs and private-sector stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating training, workshops, mentorship or business development programmes.
  • Experience engaging government agencies, financial institutions, development organisations and/or private-sector partners is desirable.
  • Experience in data management, programme monitoring, reporting and documentation is required.
  • Knowledge or practical exposure to export development, international trade and trade facilitation will be an advantage.
