Project Title: Women Entrepreneurship: Strengthening the Entrepreneurship Skills of Women-led Businesses and Women Employees of ETG (AFAWA Project).

Project Countries Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe

Duration January 2026 June 2028, full-time

Reports to: Consortium Lead

Background The AFAWA project, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), seeks to empower women-led businesses (WEBs) and women employees in ETGs agribusiness supply chains. The programme includes training, employability improvement, financial inclusion, and market linkages

Qualification

  • Master's degree in Gender Studies, International Development, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in coordinating gender, entrepreneurship, or women's empowerment programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-country donor-funded projects (AfDB experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of financial inclusion, market systems, and private sector development for women.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with a wide range of partners.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and report writing skills.
  • Fluency in English required; working knowledge of Portuguese or Swahili is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to implementation sites across the four countries.
