About the Role Thompson's team is small and entrepreneurial by design; this role supports grantmaking and partner development with a data-driven approach and a focus on long-term, multi-year commitments. You will help define and assess results with partners, plan adjustments, and support targeted organizational funding, including governance, strategy, and operations. What You'll Do
- Manage and support grantmaking across core portfolios: Arts, Culture & Public Space; Medical Research & Public Health; Justice & Safety; College & Career Access; primarily in New York City and the tri-state region, with occasional national and international grants.
- Partner with grantees to identify meaningful qualitative and quantitative measures, track progress, and adjust programs as needed.
- Provide advice and support across governance, strategy, program, fundraising, finance, human capital, technology, legal, and real estate.
- Manage a substantial grantmaking portfolio and a high volume of strategic, analytical, and operational work; think strategically, execute carefully, build tools, solve problems, and improve how the foundation operates.
- Emphasize larger grants to fewer groups to deepen relationships, and support major initiatives including capital projects and organizational resilience funding. What We're Looking For

- Strong strategic thinker and problem solver who can translate grantee needs into measurable outcomes and actionable plans.
- Experience supporting governance, strategy, program development, fundraising, finance, human resources, technology, legal, or real estate is valued; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, impact-focused foundation environment and a willingness to invest in long-term relationships.
