About the Role
Xylem seeks a Program Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset to lead and drive change, responsible for delivering growth and coordinating across multiple groups in Cheektowaga, NY. This role focuses on managing programs, P&L, and customer engagement across the program lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Independently manage medium-large size/complexity program(s) with accountability for cost, schedule, and technical performance across lifecycle.
- Own program P&L and ensure alignment with customer and business commitments.
- Inspire teams to high performance, deliver growth, and deploy internal investments efficiently.
- Serve as primary customer liaison for program activities, identifying gaps/needs and translating into new opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders; foster cross-business collaboration.
- Work in a dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities; engage across Business Development, Finance, Engineering, and Operations.
- Integrate business acumen, value proposition, budget/funding options, competitive landscape, and business case development to inform pursuits and strategies.
- Design or propose solutions with the customer; manage contract review, terms and conditions, scope, and documentation of acceptance.
- Manage Customer Relationship Management as primary contact for project updates and milestones.
- Oversee production scheduling, order entry to shipping processes, ensure clear production schedule, and communicate to end customer and operations.
- Delivery of product to end customer.
- Additional duties may be required as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or enterprise-wide programs.
- Proficient in working with customers, including through challenging issues.
- Demonstrated process improvement experience.
- Program management experience with DoD and/or knowledge of Nuclear Power preferred.
- PMP Certification preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
- U.S. Citizenship Required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ASME welding standards and interpretation in regulated manufacturing or defense environments.
- Familiarity with NAVSEA welding requirements, specifications, and documentation standards, including welding compliance on Navy programs.
- Exposure to Section VIII / Nuclear-related programs and highly regulated safety-critical environments.
- Experience managing programs involving code-driven fabrication, inspection, and compliance activities (e.g., welding procedures, qualifications, audits).
- Background supporting programs with DoD, Navy, or nuclear customers with strict configuration control.
- Ability to partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure compliance with welding and nuclear standards.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 per year plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on skills, experience, and location.

- Travel: May travel approximately 10%.
