About the Role The Program Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Student Affairs & Engagement at the Columbia Climate School and independently manages the day-to-day operations of multiple student affairs programs to enhance the student experience. The role involves planning, implementing, and administering programs such as student government and student organizations, student funding programs, professional development and alumni initiatives, experiential learning activities, and academic accommodation processes, while exercising independent judgment to ensure compliant and effective service delivery. What You'll Do

  • Independently manage the Climate School's student government and student organizations in line with Columbia policies, developing standard operating procedures and guidance materials.
  • Serve as the primary administrative resource for student groups, advising leaders on policies, funding requirements, and operational issues; facilitate regular meetings with leadership and track action items.
  • Monitor student organization budgets, process payments, reconcile expenditures, and address discrepancies.
  • Oversee the Climate School's student funding programs (Internship, Research Assistantship, Travel Grant, Course Support, Collaborative Research Grant, Summer Research Experience) including applications, reviews, award notices, and documentation.
  • Coordinate hiring and appointments, monitor progress, and work with university offices to resolve issues.
  • Manage events and programming for professional development, experiential learning, and alumni activities; collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners.
  • Coordinate academic accommodations in collaboration with the Office of Disability Services, including course materials, note-taking support, testing accommodations, proctor scheduling, and room assignments; monitor requests for timeliness and compliance.
  • Maintain program records, reporting, and continuous improvement; exercise independent judgment to prioritize tasks and deliver timely activities. What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent with 2-4 years in higher education administration, program management, communications, or related roles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to interpret university policies and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality student services. Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: 80,000-85,000 USD annually.
