About the Role The Wikimedia Foundation seeks a Program Manager, People Transformation to drive the execution of the People Department's strategic priorities in a global, remote-first environment. You will establish the operational structure, project management discipline, and execution support to deliver an evolving portfolio of People initiatives, translating strategy into actionable plans and coordinating work across teams. What You'll Do
- Manage and coordinate a portfolio of People Department initiatives and projects, develop and maintain plans, timelines, milestones, and dependency maps.
- Track status, risks, issues, and decisions; facilitate governance, status reviews, and stakeholder meetings; create dashboards and reporting.
- Partner with the Director to translate strategic priorities into executable project plans; support transformation initiatives across HR systems, performance management, policy development, analytics, and employee experience.
- Document current-state processes, develop SOPs and process maps, and establish repeatable operating practices; drive operational excellence.
- Plan, coordinate change management activities; develop implementation and communications materials; monitor adoption and effectiveness.
- Support annual planning, development of reports/dashboards for leadership, and maintain records of decisions, risks, action items, and outcomes.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities across the People Department and Foundation; escalate risks and resource constraints as needed. What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of program management, project management, operations, consulting, or related experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and competing priorities; strong project planning and execution skills.
- Proficiency with change management methodologies, process documentation, and operating documentation; cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong written and verbal communication; proficiency with project management, collaboration, and productivity tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and maintain attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders. Nice to Have
- Experience supporting HR, People Operations, Organizational Effectiveness, or transformation efforts.
- Experience in remote-first and globally distributed organizations.
- Experience in nonprofit, technology, or mission-driven organizations.
