Program Manager, Laboratory Facility Development & Expansion

2 year fixed term contract

Are you an experienced Program Manager with a passion for delivering complex laboratory infrastructure projects? We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the development of a new laboratory facility from the ground up, while simultaneously managing the expansion of an existing operational site.

Working across multiple stakeholders, you will lead projects from business case and design through construction, commissioning, qualification, operational readiness, and go-live. You will ensure facilities are delivered on time, within budget, fully compliant, and ready to support future business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a new laboratory facility and expansion of an existing site.

• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, risks, and governance frameworks.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Laboratory Operations, Facilities, Quality, Regulatory, IT, Finance, Procurement, and external partners.

• Drive facility design, commissioning, qualification, validation, and operational readiness activities.

• Ensure compliance with GMP and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Manage stakeholder engagement, decision-making, and executive reporting.

• Oversee facility handover and successful transition into operations.

• About You

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Life Sciences, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Significant program/project management experience delivering laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or other regulated facilities.

• Proven success managing capital projects from concept through operational handover.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, facility commissioning, validation, and GMP environments.

• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and influencing skills.
