Tasks

Objective of Job

The position is part of Program Management Compact & Midsize Car team, who is leading the strategic decision making and alignment within China and Germany for all Compact & Midsize product related decisions, also steering cross-carline cost measures.

As China automobile industry is facing fierce competition, cost optimization is one of the company focused fields. Program manager of FM, steers cross-carline cost measures, cooperates with x-functional team to coordinate/monitor cost target to make sure it can be achieved via earlier involvement of design, development and sourcing decision. In addition, Program manager is responsible for management reporting and cost tracking tool optimization.

Main tasks

• Workout and Steer cross-carline cost measures with core team (RD, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Quality and Design), to contribute the cost reduction target defined for each carline project
• Coordinating high level management committees with MB, BMBS and BBAC (Joint Venture Partners)
• Tracking decisions and reporting on implementation progress
• Preparing management presentations for decision
• Continuously optimize cost tracking tool with all digitalization ideas
• Ensuring the pre-alignment of product relevant China topics with all involved departments such as Research & Development, Operations and Sales & Marketing
• Participation and representation of Program Management in other committees

Qualifications

Education

• University bachelor or master degree in mechanical or automotive engineering or technical orientated Business Administration or similar, additional MBA is preferred

Experience

• With 3-5 years work experience in auto industry

• Work experience in project management role necessary

• Specific Knowledge

• High motivation and flexibility combined with a high ability to work independently

• Good organization skills and structured working function

• Drive for high quality deliveries under difficult circumstances

• Proficient knowledge in MS-Office especially in PPT and Excel, good knowledge of AI tools is a plus

• Experience in creating high level management summaries and presentations

• Team player Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels are mandatory

• Fluent spoken and written English skills (additional German skills are preferred)
