BA Gladiators Limited - Our client is a community-focused NGO that supports vulnerable individuals and communities through humanitarian aid, education, empowerment, outreach and advocacy.

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Coordinator

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: Executive Director

About the Role

  • The Program Coordinator will plan, coordinate and deliver the organization's programs, especially its yearly Sweet Fragrance program, from planning through execution, documentation and evaluation. The role also covers finding funding and grants and applying for them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program delivery: Plan and run programs, outreaches, workshops and events, with work plans, schedules, budgets and logistics.
  • Goodwill outreach: Identify beneficiary households and communities, coordinate distribution of donations and relief items, and keep records of beneficiaries and outcomes.
  • Competitions: Organize the educational and music competitions, including registration, judges, venues, prizes, publicity and event-day logistics.
  • Funding and grants: Research available grants and funding opportunities, then prepare and submit applications, proposals and concept notes.
  • Sponsors and partners: Identify and approach sponsors, businesses, churches and partners; build relationships, follow up and coordinate sponsor recognition.
  • Stakeholders: Work with beneficiaries, community leaders, schools, volunteers and partners, and represent the organization at meetings and events.
  • Reporting and budgets: Write program, donor and sponsor reports, keep accurate records, and track spending against approved budgets with the finance team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Project Management, Education or a related field. A postgraduate or professional qualification is an advantage.
  • 2 - 4 years' experience coordinating programs or projects, ideally in an NGO, charity or community-based organization.
  • Experience in event coordination, fundraising, sponsorship or grant writing is an advantage.

Key Skills:

  • Strong planning, organization and time management.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, including proposal writing.
  • Relationship-building and stakeholder management.
  • Problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and data management.
  • Willingness to travel within Port Harcourt and to program locations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Organized, proactive and community-minded, with a real interest in humanitarian and development work. Comfortable working with people and events, approaching sponsors and funders, and working under pressure.

Salary

N100,000 - N150,000 monthly.
