About the Role The Production Worker will operate in Sonoco's tube and core division, reporting to the shift supervisor and working in a fast-paced environment focused on safety and quality. You will bring hands-on and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with other departments and teams to troubleshoot problems and make incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured product
- Learn to set up new jobs, train on other lines and in other departments
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
- Perform all duties as designated by supervisor/manager and support Sonoco's quality and safety policies
- Help out other departments as needed; downtime is cleaning and straightening time What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
- A 'get it done' attitude with urgency to resolve problems/tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Forklift certification and safe forklift operation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements
- Reliable, initiative-driven, committed, and quality-focused
- Strong teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions Nice to Have
- $500 sign-on bonus paid after 90 days Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $25.33 per hour (base)
- Shift differentials: $0.26/hr on 2nd shift; $0.40/hr on 3rd shift
- Overtime: flexible to work as needed
- Sign-on bonus: $500 after 90 days (as stated)
