Job title: Production Technician
About the Role Your 12-hour rotating shift role will operate and monitor industrial gas production processes in Freeport, TX, reporting to the Production Superintendent. You will support safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while maintaining product quality and achieving performance targets.
What You'll Do
- Operate and monitor processes to achieve required flows, pressures, purities, and performance targets on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
- Follow all safety policies, permit requirements, report incidents and near misses, perform LOTO for maintenance activities, and ensure hazard recognition and PPE use.
- Maintain environmental compliance and participate in quality programs and audits; monitor product purity, inventory, and equipment performance to identify abnormalities.
- Use EAM system to manage maintenance work orders; support maintenance teams in keeping plant, buildings, and equipment in good condition.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, control loop logic, and understand process interactions; apply knowledge of air separation processes and system operations.
- Monitor efficiency metrics and operate systems via HMI and remote plant controls.
- Complete required LMS training and on-the-job training within established timelines; communicate operational deviations to plant leadership promptly.
What We're Looking For
- More than five (5+) years of experience in an industrial production environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Process Technology degree or related experience preferred.
- Experience in continuous chemical operations preferred.
- Strong computer and technical skills; ability to learn and adapt to plant control systems.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; valid driver's license.
- Ability to meet physical job requirements (lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs/ladders, work in confined spaces, wear PPE, qualify for full-face respirator).
Nice to Have
- Process Technology degree or equivalent apprenticeship; related experience preferred.
- Prior experience in continuous chemical operations.
