Job title: Production Technician
About the Role Operate and maintain systems in a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility while maintaining a strong safety culture and following procedures to improve performance. This role supports compliance with regulatory requirements and works with employees and contractors to drive reliable plant operations. The position may be part of a multi-year Production Technician progression plan toward board operator qualification.
What You'll Do
- Operate and maintain CCGT facility systems, including burner controls (where applicable), turbine controls, data acquisition, process controls, and regulating devices.
- Monitor HRSG water chemistry and CEMS (continuous emissions monitoring system) operations and calibrations.
- Perform operational rounds, control board operations, and PM/PDM activities; conduct inspections, calibrations, installations, repairs, diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and related equipment.
- Perform mechanical work involved in inspection, repair and installation of instrumentation and electrical equipment, and light PM of mechanical systems.
- Ensure safety by fostering a safety-oriented culture; participate in job briefings and safety meetings; manage Contractor Safety Orientations as needed.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and coordinate with regulatory agencies to avoid reportable violations.
- Participate in the multi-year Production Technician multi-skill progression plan to develop key skills and pursue board operator qualification.
- Be available to work additional hours and/or at alternate locations as required, including during storms or outages (Exempt employees may not be paid overtime for such duties).
- Support safety-sensitive requirements and comply with mandatory pre-employment drug testing.
- Utilize personal computers and plant systems to monitor and troubleshoot equipment.
