About the Role Operate and maintain systems at a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility with a strong emphasis on safety and procedural adherence to continuously improve plant performance. Work with employees and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance and successful execution of maintenance and operations activities.

What You'll Do

  • Foster the importance of a safety-oriented culture.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and be proactive in dealing with all agencies and avoid reportable violations.
  • Participate in the multi-year Production Technician multi-skill progression plan to develop key skills in maintenance and operations; aim to meet board operator qualification upon completion.
  • Conduct and participate in job briefings and safety meetings; oversee Contractor Safety and conduct Contractor Safety Orientations as needed.
  • Apply understanding of plant systems, burner controls (where applicable), turbine controls, data acquisition, process controls, regulating devices, personal computers, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Operational duties include, but not limited to, operating the control board, making operational rounds, performing PM/PDM activities, HRSG water chemistry, CEMS monitoring and calibrations.
  • Inspect, calibrate, install, repair, diagnose, test and troubleshoot complex instrumentation, electrical equipment, and regulating devices in a CCGT facility, alone or as part of a team.
  • Perform mechanical work involved in inspection, repair and installation of instrumentation and electrical equipment, and light PM of mechanical systems.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; 2-year associate degree in Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation/Controls or Production/Process Technology and 0-2 years of experience in a CCGT facility in an Operations or Maintenance position - OR - 2 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position; successful completion of EEI POSS/MASS.
  • Safety/Compliance: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • Readiness: Ability to work independently and as part of a team; willingness to work additional hours or in alternate locations for storms, outages, or other situations as deemed necessary.
  • Technical: Knowledge of plant systems including burner controls and turbine controls, data acquisition and process controls, regulating devices, instrumentation troubleshooting; experience with PM/PDM, HRSG water chemistry, and CEMS monitoring is a plus.
  • Testing: EEI testing may be required; review practice tests and brochures on EEI site if invited.
