About this role

About the Role GE HealthCare Japan is seeking a Production Team Leader to oversee the production lines of advanced medical devices and drive the achievement of quality, efficiency, and safety targets.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the Production Team, maintaining high morale and productivity while driving execution of production plans to achieve SQDC targets (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and maintain consistent high-quality output.
  • Uphold safety regulations and maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Develop, coach, and evaluate team members; provide training to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment; coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and optimize operations.
  • Analyze production data, lead KPI management and improvement activities; share information through regular meetings and escalate issues; collaborate with global teams as needed, communicating in English.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including 3+ years in a team leader or supervisory role.
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Shop floor management experience (process control, staffing, productivity improvement).
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems.
  • Basic knowledge of labor management and people management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: identification of issues, root cause analysis, and implementation of countermeasures.
  • Japanese business level (reading, writing, speaking); English for business reading/writing and participation in meetings.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice to Have

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing.
  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping and Kanban implementation/operation.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Experience working in multinational teams or global projects.
