Production Team Lead
About this role: The Production Team Leader is an hourly leadership role that guides a production team on the floor, setting the pace, supporting quality and safety, and training team members. Working under general supervision, this role is the front-line technical and operational reference for the line.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads and coordinates the daily work of a production team on the assigned line.
- Sets up and starts the line, verifies first-piece quality and supports changeovers.
- Trains and certifies team members on standard work and quality requirements.
- Performs and supports in-process quality checks and escalates abnormalities.
- Supports rapid problem-solving and containment when issues arise on the line.
- Maintains 5S, safety compliance and accurate production/quality records.
- Backfills production positions as needed to sustain output.
- Supports continuous-improvement and kaizen activities.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Escalate issues as needed to supervisor/management/leadership team.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 4+ years of manufacturing/production experience, including informally leading or training a team.
- 2+ years of experience working with assembly processes, standard work and quality requirements.
- 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting work instructions, blueprints and production documentation.
- 2+ years of experience training others and resolving non-routine production issues with general supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical/associate degree or trade certification preferred.
- Prior team lead or trainer experience in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Lean tools (5S, standard work, kaizen).
- Experience with quality tools and basic problem-solving methods.
- Low Volume, High Mix preferred. (High Mix)
- HVAC Experience
- 1+ year Welding/Brazing experience
- Strong safety orientation (OSHA, LOTO) and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach and perform repetitive motions for the full shift; lift up to 40 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime based on production needs
- Customer mindset
- Low Volume, High Mix preferred. (High Mix)
- 2+ years HVAC experience

Pay Range
-
The hourly rate for this position is between $24.00 - $48.00 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
