About this role

About the Role The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of personnel and production on the shop floor. This onsite role in Blauvelt, NY requires implementing Lean principles and leading a team of 10+ union workers, reporting to the Director of Operations. What You'll Do

  • Review daily visual production boards to maintain efficient production performance and provide prioritized scheduling to Lead Associates and team members.
  • Implement Lean principles in area including takt-time, balanced flow, visual factory, empowered team meetings, total safety, standardized work, and 5S standards.
  • Supervise work, provide coaching/mentoring and corrective action as needed.
  • Develop and empower team members in Lean tools: facilitation, process mapping, spaghetti charting, and elimination of the 7 wastes.
  • Lead safety compliance and drive 5S on production line; promote awareness of safety requirements.
  • Coordinate pull signals and shop activities; promote 1-piece flow and respond to daily customer demand; support Kanban Supermarkets as needed.
  • Support Kanban inventory replenishment with Planner/Buyers and Material Handlers.
  • Respond to line-down issues; lead root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Assist Lead Associates and team members; keep Facilities/Maintenance informed of issues outside normal scope.
  • Conduct meetings with Lead Associates as needed; participate in Kaizen events; review and update ECOs.
  • Approve weekly attendance for temporary team members; ensure quality standards met; administer AERCO policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional projects as assigned by Director, Operations or Company Management.
  • Uphold Watts values (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency).
  • Travel up to 5%. What We're Looking For
  • Associate or Technical degree minimum; Bachelor's preferred.
  • 7+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices; background checks and pre-employment testing as condition of employment.
  • Ability to establish employment eligibility.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Blauvelt, NY. Nice to Have
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred.

  • Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 annually.
