Job title: Production Supervisor, Aerospace Coatings - 2nd shift

PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team onsite in Sylmar, CA! As the 2nd shift Aerospace Coatings - Production Supervisor, you will have direct supervisory responsibility for a designated production area.

This is a 2nd shift position, 1:00pm - 9:30pm Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. You will report to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supports an assigned Production Area including safety, team focus on risk reduction, and improvements.
• Planning daily work and assigning resources and monitoring results.
• Hires, mentors, counsels, and coach employees related to performance and company policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes and maintains production progress including workflow by observing: steps in process; constraints in flow and equipment, monitoring staffing and resources, studying methods; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections and recovery efforts of flow.
• Compiles reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a supervisory role in the manufacturing industry required.

• High school Diploma or equivalent education degree required. Bachelor's degree in a relative field preferred.

• Skilled in employee leadership or supervision, coaching, employee engagement, and mentorship required.

• Ability to manage processes and process change, resource planning, and production planning required.

• Previous experience with Lean Methodology, process improvement, and 5S preferred.

• Technical troubleshooting in regards to coatings preferred.

• The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 7% of base salary.
