Job title: Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift (Roscommon, MI)
About the Role Lead the 2nd shift at the Roscommon plant, supervising manufacturing personnel to ensure quality, safety, productivity, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery. You’ll ensure teams have the training, tools, and equipment needed to perform quality work within allotted timeframes.
What You'll Do
- Supervise manufacturing personnel and operations to meet quality, safety, productivity, schedule and delivery goals daily.
- Ensure manpower at optimum levels, including vacation scheduling, and adjust schedules as necessary for material or people shortages.
- Maintain timely and orderly production; treat all people with fairness and respect; enforce policies and procedures.
- Train and develop subordinates; mediate conflicts; coach and mentor.
- Ensure produced parts are correct, properly labeled, and meet quality standards; maintain housekeeping; promote safe working methods (including rotation).
- Provide current production schedules to operators; ensure inter- and intra-shift communication and keep operators informed.
- Monitor maintenance needs; write work orders; coordinate repairs as needed.
- Demonstrate processes for training; knowledge of emergency procedures; and TS16949/ISO14001 procedures.
- Liaison with planner regarding inventory levels of material/finished product; maintain production records and time/attendance for HR.
- Lead and participate in 8D problem-solving meetings; participate in special projects; support continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Four-year degree in related field and/or three years of automotive experience.
- Knowledge of metal stamping, welding, JIT assembly and labor relations would be a plus.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment; capable of supervising hourly production personnel; ensure TS16949 and ISO14001 compliance.
