Georgia-Pacific – Production Superintendent (Diboll, Texas)

Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a proactive Production Superintendent to join our Diboll Particleboard Manufacturing facility in Diboll, Texas. This leader will manage, mentor and coach a team of up to four production supervisors and all production operators to achieve production, quality, safety, and reliability targets.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific’s Diboll Particleboard facility uses state of the art innovation and technology to manufacture particle board for the construction and cabinetry industry. Our particle board is used primarily in custom cabinetry and in self-assembled cabinetry sold by international furniture stores.

What You Will Do

  • Facilitating team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution; building employee commitment and ownership while holding employees accountable.
  • Identifying and executing initiatives that will help drive improvements in competitive position; delivering value to the business, and to meet Diboll key drivers’ objectives.
  • Supervising and coordinating production efforts that drive continuous improvement in all associated work processes affecting EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production and costs.
  • Leading shift production teams to work injury-free/incident free in a continuous manufacturing process.
  • Fostering an environment consistent with Principle Based Management philosophy and framework.
  • Driving safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
  • Manage and develop a team of Production Supervisors to improve their performance and better lead their production teams.
  • Monitoring product quality and providing direction to crew members to maximize production efficiency; providing safety training to crew members; providing coaching, team development/performance management through Principle Based Management processes; mentoring crew members to enable them to develop their Knowledge/Skills/Abilities for career advancement.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Building Products Manufacturing Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of general safe work practices
  • Problem Solving/Root Cause Analysis
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to learn various PC-Based production reporting systems applications
  • Able to work a 12-hour shift schedule – days and evenings as necessary
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
