Job Purpose

The Production Superintendent provides leadership and oversight for multiple production lines or departments, ensuring operational efficiency, quality, and safety. This role supports strategic planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional coordination.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee production supervisors and ensure alignment with plant goals.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive performance improvements across shifts.
  • Lead initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • This position is responsible for the manufacturing operations on their assigned shift. Responsible for achieving daily productivity, efficiency, cost, quality, safety and EOE objectives through both individual and team contributions. Provides direction, leadership, development, and support to shift supervisors through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience
  • 5+ years of experience

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

  • Manages off shift operations team; oversees support other function personnel; materials, quality, maintenance

  • Reduces lost and idle time, non-conformities and non-value-added processes

  • Ensures operator emphasis on customer expectations, and effective product line communication

  • Continuous manufacturing process improvement resulting in reduced re-work and product scrap

  • Management of on-hand and work in process inventories

  • Coordinate continuous improvement activities resulting in high quality and competitively priced products

  • Develops subordinates and ensures consistency in personnel policy administration

  • Ability to manage and run departments by the number to ensure profitability

  • Ensure effective utilization of assets
