Production Scientist

About the Role The Vaccine Production Scientist at Bimeda's San Angelo site is responsible for QC and manufacturing activities to support AquaTactics' growth in autogenous and licensed aquaculture vaccines produced in Texas. What You'll Do

• Support the production of bacterin and viral cultures for aquaculture vaccines; maintain accurate production and vaccine batching records; schedule production from internal/external input; coordinate timely shipments with the customer service team.
• Ensure raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet safety, quality and regulatory standards using both in vivo and in vitro testing; analyze data and report within agreed timelines; assist in investigations for field actions and deviations.
• Liaise with other vaccine production sites in the US and overseas; establish production procedures to meet QA/QC requirements; collaborate with vendors to provide cost-effective and timely supply; interpret data for specification conformance and generate reports; maintain GxP-compliant documentation; identify OoS results or process deviations and drive CAPA.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; maintain lab databases; author production records and SOPs; assist in validation protocol development; investigate operational deviations and drive root-cause analysis to improve yields and process efficiencies. What We're Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, or virology.
• Experience growing organisms in a lab environment and working within regulated laboratory/manufacturing environments.
• Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments; strong verbal, presentation, and writing skills in English; excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office; personable and able to interact across cultures and levels; self-starter with high energy, ability to multi-task and willingness to learn; ability to develop skills in microbiology and virology and fish diagnostics.
• Familiarity with GxP, QA/QC, and regulatory considerations; ability to develop and share knowledge across vaccine production sites. CompentenceS
