About the Role The Planning Supervisor leads day-to-day planning and scheduling activities to ensure production plans, material availability, and order fulfillment commitments are achieved safely, accurately, and on time. This role serves as a key link between Sales, Production, Supply Chain, and Logistics, while directly supervising a team of planners or planning specialists. What You'll Do
- Supervise, mentor, and develop planning staff, providing daily direction, priority setting, and workload balancing while reinforcing safety.
- Develop and maintain master production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability; coordinate with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Sales to resolve conflicts and adjust plans.
- Ensure schedules are executable, optimized, and aligned with plant priorities and labor capability; monitor execution against plans and address gaps or risks.
- Lead problem-solving for schedule disruptions, shortages, equipment constraints, or labor limitations; communicate status updates and mitigation plans to internal stakeholders.
- Act as the primary planning contact for internal and external stakeholders (Sales, Operations, Logistics) and ensure timely, accurate communication to support order fulfillment.
- Analyze planning data (lead times, backlog, adherence) and prepare performance reports; drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness; support data integrity in ERP/MES systems. What We're Looking For
- Experience leading planning teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate with Sales, Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Logistics.
- Proficiency in production planning concepts, master scheduling, and planning tools/ERP/MES; data-driven with solid problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities, with a track record of developing a planning organization and improving planning accuracy and throughput.
