Start your career with Georgia-Pacific as a Production Operator at our Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) facility in Mt. Jewett, Pennsylvania. We are hiring motivated individuals who want more than a job. Our Production Operators work Monday through Friday on set eight-hour shifts (6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., or 10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.). You do not rotate shifts. Interested individuals should have the ability to work all three shifts.

Competitive Starting Pay: Start at $20.00 per hour and advance to Operator I at $21.50 per hour after meeting established training and performance expectations.

Variable Pay: Eligible employees may receive a monetary bonus based on applicable performance measures and production targets.

Retention Bonus: This role is eligible for retention bonus opportunities following successful completion of the 90-day probationary period and again after one year of employment, subject to the terms of the applicable program.

• What You Will Do

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures

• Meet or exceed facility and company goals for production and quality

• Perform housekeeping activities that help keep equipment functioning properly, reduce hazards, and maintain the appearance of the facility

• Assist in operating production equipment and provide support for other operators during breaks or absences

• Perform physical activities including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, standing, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift

• Learn multiple production processes and operating areas to increase individual contribution and compensation potential

• Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions and a noisy industrial setting

• Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High School Diploma or GED

• Six months or more of work experience

• What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in a wood products manufacturing environment

• Experience working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment

• Experience in material handling, forklift operation, production operation, machine operation, or utility roles

• Experience reading a tape measure

• Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
