About the Role Stryten Energy is seeking a Production Operator to join the Salina, KS production team. The role focuses on safe, high-quality production in the pasting area with opportunities to learn other line positions and contribute to continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Repeatedly lift and handle battery parts and materials weighing from grams to 50 pounds.
- Load plates into feed magazines and perform some hand stacking of positive and negative plates.
- Perform first piece setup, weld breaks, and weld analysis; process 1000-2400 batteries per 10-hour shift.
- Work with a multi-person team around electrical machinery, torches, lead melting pots, conveyors, computers, and ventilation equipment.
- Learn and follow quality control specifications, maintain SPC charts and other material control documents.
- Follow safety policies and wear PPE; maintain a clean, orderly work area per 5S; comply with Lean Manufacturing Procedures and Quality Systems.
- Complete JD Edwards reconciliation form at end of shift.
What We're Looking For
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; standing for 10-hour shifts; ability to wear PPE; basic English communication; high school diploma or GED preferred; mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Prior manufacturing experience or related experience preferred.
Nice to Have
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus; previous manufacturing or related experience preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay rate: $23.96 per hour. Bonus opportunities include Quarterly Attendance Bonus up to $600 per quarter; Gainshare Bonus up to 10% of gross monthly pay (potential up to $300 per month); Production Bonus up to $11.50 per hour in addition to base pay depending on plant goals.
