About the Role Flex is seeking a Production Manager to lead and coordinate activities in Jiading, Shanghai. The role oversees manufacturing and warehouse operations, guiding multi-level assembly, electronic card/system testing and quality assurance to meet production goals while maintaining cost, quality, and delivery targets.
What You'll Do
- Manage manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, planning, IT and other stakeholders to support the growing business.
- Manage budget control and organizational development planning.
- Pursue high quality at low cost and improve utilization of machines.
- Support new product introduction, design changes, process improvements, and test procedures.
- Monitor and optimize WIP levels; follow up on work order aging.
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, policies and procedures.
- Conduct floor cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Ensure ISO and safety standards are adhered to.
- Guide department activities to support design of new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and assist with test procedures.
- Explore technology trends and market demand to plan projects.
- Collaborate with management, production, and marketing staff to resolve manufacturing feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
- Forecast operating costs and participate in budget requests.
- Partner with team and management in the development of the strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Review material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements.
- Prioritize production schedules based on product introductions, equipment efficiency, and material supply to meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate production activities with planning and distribution and other functional groups.
- Select and develop personnel to ensure efficient operation of the production function.
- Be accountable for controlling manufacturing operation and ensuring production quality and cost targets are met.
- Solve complex problems with research, evaluation of data and intangible factors.
- Review budgets and schedules required by management.
- Manage relations with executives and major customers to maintain relationships; resolve controversial situations and negotiate with management.
What We're Looking For
- Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, etc.
- 8+ years of production management experience.
- Strong expertise in manufacturing or related technical areas (SMT, testing, manual assembly).
- Advanced leadership, process management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes and cross-functional dependencies.
- Lean manufacturing.
- Familiar with SAP.
- Six-Sigma Yellow Belt or above is preferred.
- RBA knowledge is preferred.
- Able to be a manager in a team with leadership and creativity.
- Independent, self-motivated and well organized with analytical mind.
- Good communication.
