Production Forklift Operator

Location: 14 ½ Mile Road and Mound Road, Sterling Heights, MI Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM Job Type: Full-Time | Union Position

Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable and safety-minded Production Forklift Operator to join our manufacturing team in Sterling Heights. This position plays an important role in keeping production running smoothly by moving materials, replenishing production lines, and transporting finished goods throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following all safety guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely to move raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility.
• Deliver materials to production lines to support daily manufacturing operations.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize materials in designated areas.
• Move finished products to assigned staging and storage locations.
• Confirm material types, quantities, and placement as needed.
• Follow production schedules and material handling procedures.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Follow company safety policies, operating procedures, and applicable OSHA regulations.
• Work closely with production employees, supervisors, and other team members.
• Assist with additional warehouse, production, and material handling tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to work safely in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and good situational awareness.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining consistent attendance.
• Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when production demands require it.
• Willingness to follow all company safety rules and forklift operating procedures.
• Must pass a national background check as a condition of employment.

Schedule and Hours

• Days: Monday through Friday
• Hours: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
• Overtime: May be required based on production needs.
• Weekend Availability: May be necessary during periods of increased production.
