Product Sales Manager- FMCG( Unga, Oil, Animal Feeds And Packaging Bags

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Planning & Key Account Development

  • Set annual/quarterly targets for wheat flour across both B2C (retail) channels and B2B (bakeries, food, Oil, Animal Feeds or bags manufacturers).

  • Personally drive key account management for large bakery and industrial customers — contracts, supply agreements, joint business plans.

  • Own the wheat flour, Maize Flour, Oil, Animal Feeds or Packaging Bags product-line P&L (volume, price, mix, trade spend).

  • Team Leadership & Field Management

  • Manage, coach and develop Sales Representatives covering both retail and institutions

  • Conduct joint calls, monitor call discipline, and build technical selling capability (bakery application knowledge).

  • Channel Strategy & Distribution

  • Optimize coverage across modern trade, general trade, and direct bakery distribution.

  • Grow penetration among bakeries/OIL, feeds/bags and food-service accounts; manage distributor performance.

  • Ensure shelf presence, price compliance, and consistent stock levels.

  • Pricing & Trade Terms

  • Execute the pricing framework under the Head of Commercial, maintaining competitiveness in a price-led market while protecting margin.

  • Design programs to maintain institutional loyalty and volume-incentive schemes.

  • Market Intelligence & Forecasting

  • Track competitor brands, institutional activity, and raw-grain price movements affecting margin.

  • Deliver accurate demand forecasts and monthly performance reporting.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Align with Supply Chain and Production on quality consistency and availability.

  • Partner with Marketing on branding, packaging, and bakery-sector promotions.

  • Key Performance Indicators

  • Wheat flour sales volume and revenue vs. target

  • Key accounts/institutional growth and retention

  • Market share and distribution coverage

  • Gross margin and trade spend ROI

  • Team productivity and attainment

  • Forecast accuracy

  • Work Relationships

  • Internal: Head of Commercial, Marketing Manager, Supply Chain & Production, Sales Admin & Commercial Analyst, Head of Finance

  • External: Bakery customers, food manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, retail buyers, relevant trade bodies

  • Academic & Professional Qualification

  • Essential: Postgraduate diploma/certificate in Sales & Marketing (e.g., CIM); food/agribusiness qualification

  • Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or a related field

  • Work Experience & Skills

  • Essential: 6–8 years in FMCG (wheat flour, Maize Flour, Oil, Animal Feeds or Packaging Bags) or food-ingredient sales; at least 2–3 years managing field sales teams and B2B key accounts

  • Essential: Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and people-management skills

  • Desirable: Experience selling flour or bakery ingredients to industrial/artisanal bakeries; familiarity with food-grade quality and supply expectations
