Product safety is at the center of every decision in this role. As Product Safety Specialist, you will help establish a globally consistent Product Safety and Conformity framework across software and physical product lifecycles. Working across segments, you will coordinate product safety representatives, conduct independent reviews of project deliverables, and validate residual risk documentation to ensure safety requirements are addressed early and effectively. Through audits, data-driven risk assessments, and close collaboration with engineering and project teams, you will strengthen compliance, improve operational efficiency, and help build safer, more reliable Digital Grid solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead the establishment and governance of a consistent Product Safety and Conformity framework across Digital Grid segments and product lifecycles.
- Coordinate product safety representatives across the organization, ensuring a unified approach to risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and compliance.
- Conduct independent reviews of project artifacts to verify risk assessments, hazard mitigations, and safety requirements throughout design, development, and deployment.
- Drive compliance through regular audits and assessments, identifying opportunities to strengthen safety performance and improve processes.
- Ensure residual risks are appropriately documented and clearly communicated through user manuals, warnings, and technical documentation.
- Partner with engineering and project teams to integrate safety risk management into development activities while leveraging FMEA, data analytics, and digital quality dashboards to identify risks earlier.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Management, Computer Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience in product safety, functional safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance within the energy, utilities, or high-tech industries.
- Proven expertise in process governance frameworks such as QMiP, risk assessment methodologies including FMEA, and compliance auditing practices.
- Experience applying structured risk management principles across product lifecycles, from development through deployment and ongoing compliance activities.
- Knowledge of digital grid technologies, IoT-enabled devices, or smart infrastructure is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams and drive continuous improvement in product safety and conformity.
