About the Job

How this role will make an impact:

This individual will be joining the Loyalty & Account Product Team at PetSmart. This role is responsible for leading the tactical execution of the product vision and contributing to the overall product vision and roadmap. The Product Owner works closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable requirements and ensure effective prioritization of the product backlog to maximize business and Pet Parent value.

Your goals and responsibilities will include:

  • Product backlog: Owns and manages the product backlog in partnership with the Agile team, ensuring priorities are clearly defined and aligned with business value. Establishes development team priorities, defines user stories and acceptance criteria, and reviews and accepts completed work. Oversees all stages of product development, including technical design and delivery, and collaborates closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to execute against the product roadmap, strategy, and vision. Additionally, develops detailed product feature specifications and ensures they’re clearly understood by relevant teams. Communicates trade-off decisions to Product Managers when needed and provides recommendations on the path forward.

  • Product Progress: Monitors and evaluates the product lifecycle at all stages—from development and release through post-launch support and performance assessment—ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.

  • Testing and control process: Coordinates testing and control processes for the product, ensuring quality standards are met and making necessary adjustments to support successful delivery and performance.

  • Technical guidance & Collaboration: Provides technical guidance throughout the development process and actively participates in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and reviews. Demonstrates completed work to stakeholders and gathers feedback to inform continuous improvement. Collaborates closely with solution architects, UX, User Research, and A/B testing teams, and partners with other Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure alignment and effective execution across cross-functional initiatives.

  • Value-Driven Prioritization: Prioritizes the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, and strategic alignment. Evaluates trade-offs to ensure the team is focused on delivering the highest-value features and outcomes. Continuously refines priorities using data, stakeholder input, and performance insights to maximize ROI and product success.

  • Risk & Dependency Management: Identifies, assesses, and manages risks and cross-team dependencies that may impact delivery. Proactively removes blockers, coordinates with stakeholders and partner teams, and ensures alignment to maintain progress and meet delivery timelines.

What you’ll bring to the table:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an Agile environment as an active member of a Scrum team, such as an Engineer, Scrum Master, Analyst, or Product Owner.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
