About this role
Job title: Product Manager, Developer Experience
About the Role
The Trade Desk is seeking a Product Manager for the Development Platform to ensure engineering teams can deliver products quickly and efficiently. You will define the developer experience strategy and roadmaps, shape AI-enabled tooling, and lead deeply technical projects in a fast-paced environment. Your work will impact developers across the company and influence how we ship software globally.
What You'll Do
-
Own the software development life cycle at The Trade Desk – from first day of a developer to deployment into global data centers, including A/B Testing and Experimentation.
-
Refine the local developer environment and the workflows for developers to checkout, build, merge code, conduct code reviews, and steward cross-team code submissions.
-
Define and execute our developer experience strategy and roadmap in collaboration with engineering, product, and other stakeholders.
-
Develop the AI strategy and tools that help engineers be more efficient, innovative, and spend more time on inner development loop activities.
-
Establish the right metrics to drive data-driven decisions and align execution with roadmaps.
-
Lead deeply technical projects within the Trade Desk Development Platform and provide leadership in a complex, fast-paced environment.
-
What We're Looking For
-
6+ years of direct Product Management in enterprise software development focused on local developer tools, IDEs, source code repositories, build/merge processes, deployment frameworks, and product releases.
-
Deep understanding of the role of AI in the developer lifecycle, including AI IDE plugins, CLI tools, MCP servers, AI agent frameworks, and how these work to improve the SDLC.
-
Demonstrated ability to work backwards from internal customers to build long-term strategies and solutions.
-
Passion for building great developer experiences with a proven track record of delivering such solutions.
-
Proven ability to partner with engineering teams to solve complex, technical problems and deliver large, impactful software projects with measurable business outcomes.
-
Excellent communication skills: ability to drive consensus, communicate delivery timelines, trade-offs, and risks to senior management.
-
Durability and grit — comfortable with multiple iterations and approaches as dependencies solidify.
-
Enthusiasm for developer tooling, DevOps, emerging technologies, and staying on top of industry trends.
