Job Title

Product Leader – Nuclear Primary Pumps & Mechanical Seals (Americas)

ㅤ

Your Role and Impact

Flowserve is seeking an experienced Product Leader, Nuclear (Americas) to direct product management across our primary pump and mechanical seal portfolios in the nuclear power sector. Nuclear power generation is Flowserve’s top strategic growth initiative, backed by an expanding project pipeline spanning new builds, advanced reactor generation, and utility plant life-extension programs.

ㅤ

Reporting directly to the Specialty & Power Product Line Leader and collaborating closely with Global Nuclear Leadership, you will operate as the commercial and strategic "CEO" of your product lines—owning the product roadmap, market pricing strategy, margin expansion, and competitive positioning across North and South America. In this high-visibility leadership role, you will navigate complex nuclear regulatory frameworks (ASME Section III, 10 CFR 50, NQA-1) while accelerating high-margin aftermarket solutions, power uprates, and engineered fleet replacements.

ㅤ

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive 1-, 3-, and 5-year strategic product roadmaps for primary nuclear pumps, engineered mechanical seals, replacement parts, and outage services—establishing and delivering aggressive targets for revenue growth, gross margin expansion, and market share.

  • Serve as the designated Americas leader managing proprietary and U.S. controlled-technology equipment, safeguarding critical intellectual property while driving continuous product competitiveness and differentiation.

  • Establish market-level pricing architectures, target lead times, cost-reduction targets, and manufacturing footprint optimization in close coordination with Sales, Operations, and Commercial Operations.

  • Drive aftermarket growth strategies tailored to nuclear utility fleet life extensions, reactor power uprates, severe-service retrofits, and planned outage turnarounds in direct partnership with the global aftermarket organization.

  • Partner with Regional Sales to lead strategic customer site visits (40%–45% travel), build technical intimacy with utility plant engineers and executives, and deliver advanced technical seminars.

  • Ensure all commercial offerings, technical definitions, and project charters strictly adhere to ASME Section III (Div 1 & 5), N/NPT certifications, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 quality programs.

  • Champion product innovation and lifecycle enhancements, directing initiatives across R&D, product marketing, localization, strategic alliances, and commercial partnerships to maximize long-term portfolio profitability.

  • ㅤ

  • Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status strictly required due to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and federal nuclear regulatory restrictions governing controlled technology and nuclear export controls.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 10–15+ years of relevant experience across product management, engineering, commercial operations, applications engineering, or technical sales within the commercial nuclear power industry.

  • Deep technical expertise and working familiarity with engineered primary pumps, mechanical seals, or adjacent critical rotating equipment utilized in nuclear power generation stations.

  • Proven mastery of nuclear codes, standards, and quality frameworks, including ASME Section III (Divisions 1 & 5), N and NPT stamps, NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and 10 CFR 21 reporting regulations.

  • Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen with proven success driving P&L metrics, margin expansion, and multi-year product roadmaps.

  • Willingness and ability to travel 40%–45% across North and South America to support customer facilities, manufacturing sites, and industry conferences.

  • ㅤ

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master of Science in Engineering or MBA).

  • Active or past participation in nuclear industry standard bodies and working groups (e.g., EPRI, ASME, NEI, ANS).

  • Direct commercial experience supporting Small Modular Reactor (SMR) developers, Generation IV advanced nuclear projects, or major nuclear fleet life-extension campaigns.

  • Background leading cross-functional stage-gate product development (NPD) from concept through commercialization and plant commissioning.
