About this role
Job title: Product Engineer - Wire Annealing Furnaces
About the Role Materials Research Furnaces, LLC designs and manufactures continuous feed wire annealing furnaces with capabilities including up to 2500°C operation and up to twelve open-ended wire feeding tubes. This role focuses on communicating product capabilities, supporting engineering and sales efforts, and developing customer-ready documentation and demonstrations for these high-temperature systems.
What You'll Do
- Explain features of continuous wire annealing furnaces, including the 2500°C (4500°F) maximum temperature, up to 18" (457 mm) heated section, and up to twelve open-ended feeding tubes.
- Describe the inert gas or hydrogen operating environments and the gas-flow strategy that creates pressure differentials to prevent air ingress into tubes and chamber.
- Summarize design elements that contribute to process control, such as vertical orientation for gravity-assisted wire support and tension, unique temperature gradients created by heat shielding, and the oxygen monitor with audible alarm.
- Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to develop product catalogs, drawings, and option details (e.g., tungsten or tantalum mesh heating element shields).
- Translate technical specifications into customer-facing materials and support demonstrations and evaluations.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with high-temperature furnaces, materials processing, or related industrial equipment.
- Understanding of inert gas or hydrogen operation and atmospheric control, including pressure differentials and oxygen monitoring.
- Knowledge of high-temperature heating elements and shields, such as tungsten or tantalum mesh shields.
- Ability to read and interpret product specifications and drawings and to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with continuous wire annealing or multi-tube feeding systems.
- Familiarity with product documentation processes and CAD/drawings.
