Product Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Product Engineer with experience in PHP, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript to join our product engineering team at Infinx. The ideal candidate will have strong software development fundamentals, experience working on healthcare technology products, and the ability to translate business requirements into reliable, scalable software solutions. This role requires a developer who can go beyond coding by understanding business problems, collaborating with product managers and other stakeholders, evaluating technical solutions, and taking ownership of the complete software development lifecycle. Candidates with healthcare domain experience, particularly in healthcare IT, medical billing, Electronic Health Records (EHR), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), are preferred. A minimum of six months of healthcare domain experience is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and software solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications using PHP, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and discuss implementation approaches.
• Participate in technical design discussions and recommend suitable solutions based on business needs.
• Develop and maintain application features, backend services, APIs, and integrations as required.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code following established development standards.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective fixes.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and application performance improvements.
• Support application deployment, production issues, and ongoing product maintenance.
• Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and design to implementation, testing, release, and support.
• Work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver product enhancements and business-critical features.
• Understand healthcare workflows and translate domain-specific requirements into effective software functionality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Hands-on software development experience using PHP, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
• Strong programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming concepts, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing, enhancing, and maintaining production software applications.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, application integrations, and database concepts.
• Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL or similar relational databases, where applicable.
• Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into working software.
• Experience participating in requirement discussions, technical design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product teams, business stakeholders, architects, and QA engineers.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Minimum six months of healthcare domain experience is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on healthcare IT products or platforms.
• Knowledge of EHR/EMR systems, medical billing, healthcare claims processing, or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).
• Experience working in a product engineering or SaaS environment.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Experience with frontend frameworks, backend frameworks, API integrations, or cloud-based applications.
• Ability to independently own features from requirement clarification through production support.
