About this role
Prezly
We’re looking for a Product Engineer who likes building products, not just closing tickets.
At Prezly, engineers help shape features, make product and technical tradeoffs, look at data, and take things all the way from idea to production.
Sometimes the best outcome is a polished feature. Sometimes it’s a quick experiment that tells us not to build the feature at all.
If you’re not a product builder, this isn’t the role for you.
Prezly is a small, remote, bootstrapped and profitable SaaS company building PR software for communication teams around the world.
We don’t use Jira. We don’t do sprints or Agile. We ship much faster because of that.
Meetings are rare and a lot of work happens asynchronously.
You’ll work directly with Product, Design and other engineers, with access to user feedback, designs and product data behind what we’re building.
You’ll also have a lot of freedom in how you work. Use the terminal, coding agents and workflow that make you productive.
You might spend a day building a prototype end to end. We use PHP, Symfony and Postgres on the backend, React and some Next.js on the frontend.
You might look at usage data and decide a feature doesn’t deserve another week of work.
You might launch something deliberately small because finding out whether people want it is more useful than spending a month perfecting it.
Sometimes you’ll spot an awkward edge case in a design, suggest a simpler approach, or realise halfway through that the original idea isn’t worth the complexity.
And when something ships, you should care about what happens next.
That’s what we mean by Product Engineer.
A.I. is a normal part of how we build software at Prezly. We use it for coding, debugging, exploring the codebase, prototyping, writing tests and reviewing ideas.
We’re not interested in how much code you typed yourself. We care about what you can build, your passion for raising standards and not accepting average.
We’ll be frank; if you think A.I. has no place in serious software engineering, you probably won’t enjoy working here. Only apply if you're willing to defend this position
- You need every task broken down before you can start
- You prefer implementing decisions to participating in them
- You consider something finished when the PR is merged
- You want to stay permanently frontend-only or backend-only
- You think product decisions are Product’s problem
- You mostly measure progress by how many tickets you closed
There are plenty of good engineering jobs built that way.
Prezly isn’t one of them.
Location: We’re based within Belgium but we’re fully remote, therefore we accept candidates within a +-2 hour timezone from CET, Europe preferred. We're strict on this; if you apply outside of the timezone we won't proceed with your application.
Salary: €4500-€6500 / month, depending on ability, experience and awesomeness.
We’re generous with our benefits so you can bring your A-game when you’re working. Benefits include 35 days paid holidays for our full-time people and all-expenses paid team retreats, plus our profit-sharing bonus scheme. Plus a really cool, motivated, hardworking bunch of colleagues to work with, day-in, day-out.
If this sounds like your kind of engineering job, we need to talk.
