About the Role
The Product Developer will shape Burberry's Knitwear collections from concept through production, translating creative vision into technically sound, high-quality product. Based in London, the role sits in Product Development and collaborates with Design, Product Engineering and the global vendor network to balance innovation, quality and commercial targets across Knitwear.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with Design as a technical collaborator, attending fittings and guiding feasibility to bring the creative vision to life in Knitwear.
- Lead end-to-end development of knitwear styles, ensuring samples and prototypes are delivered on time, to quality standards and within cost targets.
- Own and manage the critical path from concept to pre-production, proactively identifying risks and driving solutions to maintain delivery timelines.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with vendors across Europe and Asia, aligning capability, cost and quality while protecting design intent.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of PLM data, communicating changes clearly to cross-functional partners to avoid disruption.
- Support and coach Product Development Assistants, sharing knowledge and encouraging continuous learning across categories.
What We're Looking For
- Strong technical expertise in knitwear product development, with a deep understanding of construction, materials and fit.
- Confident working in partnership with Designers, translating creative ideas into commercially viable, high-quality product.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to balance creativity, cost and margin throughout the development process.
- Experienced in managing complex critical paths and vendor relationships across international supply bases.
- Clear, inclusive communicator who collaborates effectively across functions and cultures.
- Organised, adaptable and proactive, with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
