About the Role Michael Kors is seeking a talented product designer to own the end-to-end design process for mainline and outlet products, translating the brand aesthetic into exclusive items and aligning with seasonal storytelling and business strategy.

What You'll Do

• Lead the entire product design process from trend research, yarn sourcing, stitch development, sketches, boards, tech packs, BOMs and fit, in collaboration with Design Director.
• Translate the Michael Kors aesthetic into exclusive products for both mainline and outlet, ensuring consistency with seasonal concepts and business vision.
• Research and source yarn from Italian and Asian mills with price, attributes and sustainability in mind.
• Develop seasonally appropriate stitches and bring innovative ideas to cross-functional partners.
• Create development packages, design sketch boards and CADs; complete design tech packs and trim BOMs in PLM for proto and showroom samples.
• Lead fittings with tech design and production teams with support from Design Director.
• Communicate and collaborate with merchandising, product development, technical design, and overseas/global partners and agents.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Textile Design; specialization in fully fashioned sweaters preferred.
• 5+ years fully fashioned sweater design experience.
• Expert design, technical sketch and conceptual skills with high attention to detail.
• Advanced Illustrator sketching; strong sense of silhouette, color, material and trim.
• Full understanding of technical knitting capabilities, yarn construction, machine gauge and garment construction.
• Excellent experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PLM.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; strong presentation abilities.
