About the Role Mattel is seeking a Product Design Trainee, a recent graduate or someone looking to gain practical experience, to learn under the guidance of seasoned designers and contribute to design projects. The role involves reviewing product specs during development and collaborating with regional design teams to create innovative toys.
What You'll Do
- Work under the supervision of experienced designers on various design projects to learn and contribute.
- Review and validate product specs throughout the development phase after tool let.
- Collaborate with Mattel HK and China designers to review and validate product specs.
- Travel to factories as required to support development and production.
- Prepare and present portfolio pieces together with your resume.
What We're Looking For
- Fresh graduates with a major in Arts Design.
- Basic hand sketching skills and a creative, innovative mindset; passion for toy design.
- Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop and Illustrator; comfortable with Apple operating systems.
- Good English communication; Mandarin is a plus.
- Energetic, eager to learn, and willing to travel to factories.
- Portfolio submission is required with resume.
Nice to Have
- Mandarin language skills (optional).
- Experience collaborating with cross-regional design teams (preferred).
