Product Design Engineer
Our small, successful client is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join their dynamic team! You’ll utilize your strong SolidWorks experience and solid foundation in mechanical design principles to help deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Responsibilities of the Product Design Engineer
- Review, interpret, and validate client drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Streamline and optimize client designs to ensure manufacturability, functionality, and compliance with internal standards
- Develop and modify 2D and 3D mechanical designs using SolidWorks
- Translate client requirements into clear, accurate mechanical designs and detailed engineering drawings
- Identify design improvements, resolve discrepancies, and propose cost-effective solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, project management, and sales to support project execution
Qualifications of the Product Design Engineer
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent degree
- 4+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Proven experience using SolidWorks for mechanical design and drawing creation
- Experience reviewing and streamlining customer-supplied drawings and specifications
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in creating clear, well-documented engineering drawings
