About the Role Product Design Director IC on Capital One’s Customer Acquisitions and Management team leads design execution and elevates craft across high-impact, revenue-generating programs. You’ll define design strategy, collaborate with research, Product and Tech leadership, and navigate matrixed stakeholders to deliver customer experiences that drive business value and Capital One’s brand.

What You'll Do

• Lead design execution and craft excellence across high-impact programs in revenue-generating products.
• Define and drive design strategy aligned to the organization’s vision and business objectives.
• Collaborate deeply with research, Product, and Tech leadership; elevate the design practice’s maturity.
• Mentor and guide other design roles (product, content, research, operations, service, motion) and lead complex projects.
• Collaborate across lines of business to align user needs with business strategy; champion human-centered, outcomes-focused design.
• Develop artifacts such as vision stories, journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs and prototypes; contribute to design systems usage.
• Communicate findings and influence senior stakeholders; drive alignment on OKRs, roadmaps, and operating models.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of experience in a product design role with a strong portfolio showing leadership, process, results and impact.
• 10+ years of experience in product design (Preferred Qualifications).
• Experience spanning product design, service design, and content design; leading high-impact, complex projects from strategy through delivery.
• Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, marketing, and analytics across multiple business lines to shape strategy, OKRs, roadmaps, and operating models.
• Experience working within a design system; proficiency with web and mobile technologies.
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
• Ability to ground product and user experience decisions in business value; exceptional written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $230,400 — $286,900 USD yearly for Director, Design (McLean, VA; New York, NY).
