Product Costing Engineer

About the Role Product Costing Engineer role at Alstom based in Paris Area (St Ouen) or Valenciennes, focusing on estimating technical costs, supporting Design-to-Cost, and creating target costs for tenders and projects. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Sourcing and Industrialization teams and develop costing tools and methodologies. What You'll Do

• Develop and use costing tools to calculate technical costs (Should Cost / Could Cost), build cost models, and analyze cost drivers
• Propose design improvements to reduce technical and industrial costs and ensure feasibility of products and industrial processes
• Provide cost breakdowns to sourcing teams and support technical business cases
• Share feedback from suppliers and contribute to design rules and best practices across programs
• Contribute to the development of costing tools, methodologies and improve cost estimation accuracy What We're Looking For
• Degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
• Experience or understanding of costing methodologies (Should Cost / Could Cost)
• Knowledge of industrial processes and their segmentation
• Familiarity with railway industry norms, certifications, and quality gates (e.g., V-Cycle)
• Understanding of Electrical Engineering design, architecture, and tools (e.g., CATIA, E3S, SEE ONE)
• Knowledge of EMC, maintainability, safety, and product components (e.g., harnesses, connectors, relays)
• Proficiency in MS Office tools; Fluent in English
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset, collaboration skills, adaptability; dynamic, proactive and able to work autonomously Nice to Have
• Railway industry experience and exposure to cost estimation tools and methodologies
