About this role
AGCO is seeking a Product Cost Engineer to perform should costing of components using aPriori software, focusing on sheet metal, metal fabrication, machining, painting processes, and wire harnesses. You will develop cost models and identify design modifications to reduce cost, create manufacturing process maps for key commodities, and analyze the relationship between manufacturing steps, geometric features, cycle times, and cost impact. You will work closely with the engineering team to share findings from cost modeling to inform design decisions from component level through full assembly techniques, and maintain awareness of current market rates for materials, processes, and equipment.

Perform should-cost modeling to estimate product costs and identify potential design modifications for cost reduction.

Develop should-costing models and manufacturing process maps for key commodities including sheet metal, metal fabrication, machining, painting, and wire harness.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of how manufacturing processes and operations, geometric features, and cycle time influence cost.

Collaborate with the engineering team to share key takeaways from cost modeling and analysis to inform design decisions from component level through full assembly techniques.

Maintain awareness of current market rates for materials, manufacturing processes, and equipment/machines.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

6+ years of work experience in Automotive, Off-Highway, Construction, or Agriculture industries or with a supplier providing commodities to these industries (sheet metal, metal fabrication, machining, painting, and wire harness).

4+ years of experience with aPriori, Creo, and Windchill tools, with should-costing and process-mapping expertise in the listed commodities.
