About this role
About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented, business-minded compliance professional to own product compliance across Cardless's card programs, including credit and debit. You will operate at the intersection of compliance, product, and business, advising on new card programs and features, terms, pricing, and disclosures so they meet regulatory and partner-bank requirements throughout the product lifecycle. What You'll Do
- Advise product, business, and operations teams on compliance of new card programs, features, terms, pricing, and fees across credit and debit, from concept through launch and servicing.
- Review product terms, pricing/fees, disclosure packages, and application/servicing flows for alignment with applicable regulations and partner-bank requirements.
- Interpret and apply Regulation Z, Regulation E, Regulation DD, Regulation B, UDAAP, FCRA, and related consumer protection laws to product decisions, including novel features where the rule is not directly on point.
- Identify regulatory issues early in the lifecycle and recommend defensible, workable solutions.
- Support launches by ensuring required disclosures and regulatory elements are built into the product.
- Build and maintain product-compliance review checklists, advisory intake, sign-off workflows, and audit-ready records.
- Partner with issuing-bank partners on product and disclosure review and respond to inquiries.
- Escalate higher-risk or novel issues to senior compliance leadership with analysis and recommendation.
- Contribute to regulatory change management and internal training. What We're Looking For
- Typically 4–7 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory advisory within banking, fintech, or consumer financial services, with hands-on product or regulatory compliance.
- Hands-on experience reviewing consumer financial product features, terms, pricing, disclosures, or application/servicing flows for regulatory compliance.
- Working knowledge of Regulation Z, Regulation E, Regulation DD, Regulation B, UDAAP, FCRA.
- Ability to interpret regulation and translate into practical, customer-friendly guidance, including novel features.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to give defensible recommendations, not just flags.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, advisory mindset and cross-functional partnering.
- Comfort using AI tools to improve efficiency.
- Proven ability to operate independently without a defined playbook. Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience across both credit and debit card products.
- CRCM or other consumer-compliance certification.
- Exposure to fintech or partner-bank program structures.
- Experience standing up or maturing a product-compliance function.
- Interest in consumer finance, loyalty programs, and card products.
- Curiosity about how compliance can enable responsible, innovative growth. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $130,000-$150,000 per year (USD).
- Onsite work arrangement (San Francisco, CA area) and standard full-time benefits as applicable.
