Position Overview

Based in Lisle, Illinois, International creates solutions that deliver greater uptime and productivity to our customers throughout the full operation of our commercial vehicles. We build International trucks and engines and IC Bus school and commercial buses, as well as develop Fleetrite aftermarket parts. Interns are carefully selected for one of the following Functional Areas:

• Direct Material Procurement (Cabin, Chassis, Powertrain, or Aftersales)
• General Purchasing Services / Goods
• Purchasing Program Management
• Supply Chain Risk Management
• Procurement Processes & Systems

Duration: Summer 2027 (12 weeks) Location: Lisle, IL

Responsibilities

Potential projects could include:

• Vendor Consolidation Strategy and Tail Spend Analysis

• Establish process for Supplier Capacity/Lead time documentation

• Assist with data mining information to formulate Category Strategies– i.e.: Liaison with the Engineering teams to get technical details for the strategy

• Assisting in CSA negotiation and execution

• Optimization of Aftermarket processes and part number rationalization

• Creation and maintenance of Procurement dashboards and systems

• Use Ai to drive digital optimization within the organization

• Minimum Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

• OR

• For Legal Jobs: Pursuing a Juris Doctor degree or Doctor of Law degree (J.D.)

• Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status)

• Desired Skills

• At least Sophomore standing for undergrad at the time of application

• Able to work at least 12 weeks (starting the end of May or early June through August)

• Previous applicable internships

• Self-starter

• High level of computer skills (Microsoft Applications and Internet)

• Excellent communication skills

• Interested in transportation/automotive industry

• Excellent time management skills

• Detail Oriented

• Team Player – willing to work with others inside and outside your department

• Benefits and Compensation

• This position offers competitive pay to support employees as they gain real world experience and grow professionally. The hourly pay range is $27–$32 per hour. Benefits offered for intern and co op positions are limited to paid time off (PTO) and paid company holidays during the assignment.
