Procurement & Subcontract Engineer

About the Role OHB Czechspace is seeking a Procurement & Subcontract Engineer who will own supplier deliveries within projects, bring strong technical and market insight to the product category, and drive long term procurement strategies. You will build partnerships with key stakeholders and collaborate across engineering, project control and quality to meet cost, schedule and compliance. What You'll Do

• Establish procurement plans and procurement strategy aligned to project goals.
• Conduct active research and qualification of subcontractors/suppliers according to project needs.
• Ensure timely and cost effective procurement of satellite units, subsystems and services.
• Manage supplier selection process including RFI, RFQ, RFP and implement the Tender Evaluation Board.
• Participate in contract structuring and negotiations and coordinate contract changes with Project Controlling & Contracts.
• Monitor subcontractor performance regarding cost, quality, delivery timelines and contractual/technical compliance.
• Lead project reviews with subcontractors and align with the broader project team.
• Collaborate with Project Controlling & Contracts Manager on commitments and invoice approvals.
• Ensure cost compliant processing of deliveries; maintain stable contractual situation; assess critical contract changes and support avoidance strategies; use waiver/deviation/non-conformance processes in negotiations if needed.
• Prepare, consolidate and communicate procurement and supply status reports for internal stakeholders and customers.
• Actively manage risks within allocated deliveries including mitigation actions and financial reserves.
• Work closely with engineering, project management, product assurance and quality to meet technical, programmatic and quality requirements.
• Ensure export control compliance for export controlled or sensitive items. What We're Looking For
• Relevant education: completed engineering studies or equivalent qualification (industrial engineering acceptable).
• Fundamental engineering knowledge, especially in space; negotiation and project management skills; experience managing complex development projects; internal mentoring; conflict resolution skills; market and supplier knowledge; moderation and presentation skills.
