Role Overview

An opportunity is available for a Procurement Specialist with a background in defense contracting. This role requires an individual with experience in procurement regulations and purchasing for U.S. Government customers. The position involves managing purchase requisitions and processing them into purchase orders with attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage complex IOTs, POs, and Subcontracts for materials, software, and services.

  • Ensure compliance with Government (FAR, DFAR, AMS), customer, and company requirements through all program phases.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Program Management, Quality, Finance, and Legal.

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic supplier relationships, focusing on quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

  • Execute bid/proposal activities, PIAs/NDAs, and Teaming Agreements.

  • Review and assist in the development of Subcontract Statements of Work (SSOW).

  • Perform in-depth price analyses and conduct supplier assessments to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Lead negotiations regarding price, schedule, and terms/conditions.

  • Manage supplier performance against key indicators to drive continuous improvement.

  • Support invoice approvals, inquiries, and issue resolution related to POs/Subcontracts.

  • Required Qualifications

  • Education: A University Degree is typically required.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Prior procurement experience and a background in defense contracting are necessary.

Skills

  • Experience with U.S. Government procurement regulations and purchasing.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.

  • Experience in a contracts/procurement role with responsibility for sourcing, placing orders, price analysis, negotiations, and supplier management.

  • Experience with FAR, DFAR, and FAA AMS.

  • Experience with international requirements, including import/export regulations.

  • Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with Statements of Work.

  • Experience with SAP.

  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
