Section: Overview HBM Nigeria Plc. is seeking a Procurement Operations Manager to oversee local purchasing operations, supplier relationships, procurement processes, and cost optimisation.
Section: Responsibilities
- Implement local procurement strategies in collaboration with Category Managers.
- Manage operational purchasing of local goods and services, including contracts within approved thresholds.
- Coordinate operational buyers and ensure ethical procurement practices.
- Establish and monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) with internal stakeholders.
- Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier service performance.
- Maintain procurement dashboards and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
- Coordinate procurement review meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, purchase order procedures, and procurement policies.
- Review purchase requisitions, control costs, and identify opportunities for savings.
- Propose supply agreements and blanket orders for recurring purchases.
- Monitor contractor performance and communicate environmental policies to vendors.
- Drive procurement process improvements and optimise working capital.
Section: Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
- First-level university degree or equivalent experience; an advanced degree may be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and business processes.
- Project management, follow-up, and negotiation skills.
- Proactiveness, transparency, and strong human and business administration skills.
