Job title: Procurement & Logistics Manager
About the Role This Procurement & Logistics Manager role unites Sales, Commercial Support, Service Coordination, Commercial Management Operation, and Procurement & Logistics to ensure end-to-end service operations, maintain parts supply stability, and align cross-functional priorities to improve customer satisfaction and business performance.
What You'll Do
- Function as the central cross-functional coordinator among Sales, Commercial Support, Service Coordination, Commercial Management Operation, and Procurement & Logistics to align priorities, resolve inter-department conflicts, and facilitate information sharing and decision-making regarding parts supply and customer commitments.
- Manage on-time delivery performance for parts, lead issue resolution for delays and critical projects, and coordinate escalations to HQ/IRM/Accelleron when needed.
- Oversee inventory and supply for Kobe Parts Center, optimize stock based on market demand, product life cycle, and urgency, and support material supply planning and execution from group companies.
- Define and manage exception handling and prioritization rules for urgent/important cases, respond to shortage risks, and support Sales with customer communications during late delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement of ordering, lead-time management, and inter-department coordination processes; increase transparency of backlog and supply risks; improve overall operations efficiency.
- Lead and develop a Procurement & Logistics team of about 5 people; clarify roles, decision rights, and growth opportunities; mentor and develop staff in line with HR policies and Group PL excellence guidelines.
- Model HSE behaviors and ensure compliance with internal HSE rules and standards.
What We're Looking For
- Experience leading a procurement & logistics function and cross-functional collaboration across multiple departments.
- Strong understanding of procurement, sourcing strategy, supplier management, contract management, and risk management.
- Track record in achieving on-time delivery, cost and quality improvements, and supplier performance management with KPIs.
- Knowledge of quality control, Kaizen and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, people management, and conflict resolution skills.
- International business experience; English frequently used in daily work; bilingual Japanese & English.
- Familiarity with legal aspects in supplier management and ability to interpret contracts and terms.
