Procurement Category Manager

About the Role Motorola Solutions is building talent pipelines to meet future hiring demands. This is a pipeline role; while there is not an immediate opening, we want to build relationships with prospective candidates. If your background is a match, we’ll follow up with an exploratory conversation. You will develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories, negotiate favorable contracts, and manage key supplier relationships. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented mindset and a strong understanding of the procurement lifecycle. What You'll Do

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies (RFx), negotiate favorable terms, and manage contract lifecycle to secure optimal pricing, quality, and service levels.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and process improvements; track KPIs to demonstrate value.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and align procurement strategies with business goals; present findings to leadership.
• Manage the entire contract lifecycle from negotiation to renewal and termination, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecast spend, and analyze financial data to identify opportunities for savings. What We're Looking For
• Proven experience in procurement with a focus on strategic sourcing and category management.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency with procurement tools and technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Nice to Have
• Proven cost reduction expertise.
• Strong budget planning skills.
• Certifications: CPSM, MCIPS, CPM, or PMP. Compensation & Benefits
• Target Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $160,000 per year.
